Hiroshima travel guide
A Hiroshima trip raises a few linked decisions: how to fit in the Peace Memorial Museum, how to reach Miyajima, and whether to base yourself in the city or on the island. Each guide on this page answers a piece of that.
For the museum itself, the Peace Memorial Museum ticket guide explains when you can buy at the door and when only a web ticket works. The Miyajima guide looks at what the island costs and how the tide decides whether you can walk out to the torii, and Hiroshima to Miyajima compares JR plus the ferry, the tram and the direct boat from Peace Park.
If you are coming from Kansai, the day trip from Kyoto or Osaka checks a regional pass against regular Shinkansen tickets. Where to stay weighs downtown hotels against a night on Miyajima, and the Okunoshima guide covers the ferry out to the rabbit island along the coast.
